Our next top tips is from the award winning Hair Stylist, Creative Director, and Entrepreneur behind the exclusive Electric brand encompassing Salons, Mark Woolley. Drawing from 18 years experience Marks work regularly appears in leading publications across the globe and he is frequently used as an expert on celebrity hair trends, on TV and within top monthly glossy magazines.

As a well-respected figure within the industry, Mark is the Global brand ambassador for Iconic brush manufacturer Denman International, a member of L’Oreal Portfolio of Artistic Hairdressers, and is active within the Fellowship for British Hairdressing.

Mark’s Tips:

1. 20’s: Go for it, this is the time to experiment, to re-invent and play with your look. Try dip dye technique or a cute pixie crop which exudes confidence and fun.

2. 30’s:Time to consider your lifestyle, your career goals and you may have a young family so keep your style feminine and easy so you can throw it back during the day and still style it sexy for evenings out. If your single go for long super sexy waves with a sophisticated colour.

3. 40’s: Don’t get stuck in a style rut, whatever suited you in your twenties may no longer flatter you now, that is not to say you can’t wear your hair long – it might just suit you to have some soft layers cut in to frame your face or a chunky weight-line to or add volume. You are likely to start seeing the grey coming though so to review your colour, if you are dark you may wish to start adding some caramels and work towards a lighter shade to blend and have easier colour maintenance.

4. 50’s: Treat your hair regularly. Start to use a conditioning masque every 10 days to lock in moisture and maintain luster. If you are experience thinning, a great cut can really make a huge difference so have a long consultation with your stylist. For all over coverage of grey go for ammonia free products as this will maintain the health of your hair longer

6. 60’s and beyond:Take it short. A short but soft crop is perfect as it lifts and accentuates the features and elongates the neck. A lighter shade with brighter blond highlights around the face can take years off and blends beautifully with lighter grey hair.
