When I think of Brighton, I think of the Royal Pavilion, the pier, and the trendy “lanes” cobbled street. What doesn’t immediately spring to mind is a fabulous range of 100% organic ,raw, vegan, fair trade, and cruelty free skincare.

Hand crafted at their Brighton workshop, Raw Gaia has a very simple ethos “if nature didn’t name it we won’t use it”. Their range is not only organic but raw meaning all the ingredients are pure botanical extracts and contain no harmful fillers or unnecessary chemicals. They state “[w]e don’t just create skincare we create food for the skin”. Filled with 100% natural cold pressed oils and floral waters, the ingredients are used just the way nature intended.

First on my list to try was their unique MSM Beauty Spray. It’s a moisturiser that is light and easy to use, just close your eyes and one or two sprays on your face and neck is all you need for your skin to be left feeling beautifully moisturized and  nourished. But, don’t let its simplicity fool you, as it’s packed full of ingredients that will help nourish, heal and repair dry parched skin whilst giving it a youthful glow. It contains cold pressed oils, such as argan (rich in vitamin e), rosehip (a powerhouse oil full of nutrients and essential fatty acids) and lastly, to improve skin texture and suppleness, both frankincense oil and floral water.

In addition, the miracle ingredient: MSM. This stands for Methylsulfonylmethane, a nutritional form of sulphur, otherwise known as the “Beauty Mineral”. It is a by- product of sea algae which grows in the oceans and then evaporates into the clouds. Therefore, when it rains, it falls to earth and nourishes all living organisms. The plants used in Raw Gaia skincare are 100% organic and  have a high concentration of MSM. This little known mineral aids in the formation of collagen, elastin and keratin– three vital components to keep aging at bay.

I then moved onto the MSM Beauty Cream, which is especially good for a more mature skin, as well as aiding in the healing of scars and damaged tissue as it has the largest concentration of MSM within their range.

I must confess at being slightly taken aback by its texture as it doesn’t have a classic “cream” appearance. This is due to it being made from organic cacao butter, a phenomenal ingredient within itself that helps to restore elasticity and regenerate skin cells. As imagined, it smells divine, like a high quality chocolate, because it hasn’t been deodorized so its raw integrity remains. Thus  maintaining its high levels of anti-oxidants to provide your skin with all its powerful anti-aging and healing benefits. Moreover, it also contains organic apricot kernel oil which acts as an emollient for a dry, tired and mature skin. It also contains organic jojoba oil which soothes and heals whilst acting as a humectant (which helps the skin to retain and trap moisture), wild crafted frankincense to nourish, and wild crafted myrrh to cool and heal.

To sum up, I found Raw Gaia products to be of an amazing quality and can’t praise them highly enough. They can be found at .
