Everyone thinks face wipes are bad for both the environment and for your skin. But are the new generation of face wipes proving the beauty industry doubters wrong? Alice Hart-Davis, award-winning beauty writer and creator of Good Things skincare thinks so…

1) Face wipes only remove surface dirt or make-up and don’t cleanse fully.

“FALSE. Good Things Total Wipe Out Cleansing Wipes do a brilliant job, whether you are stuck in a field at a festival or needing a double-quick cleanse in your own bathroom after a night out.”Unknown

2) Face wipes are harsh on the skin and don’t cleanse and moisturise like they claim on the pack.

“FALSE. Good Things wipes are gentle on the skin (yet very effective!) They contain superfruit beauty- boosters cranberry extract and raspberry extract, both of which have an anti-inflammatory, calming effect on the skin, along with moisturising vitamin E to keep skin soft. Also, like other Good Things products, they are free from parabens, sulphates, mineral oils and animal-tested ingredients.”

3) Face wipes are not good value for money, as they dry out halfway through the pack.

“FALSE. Good Things Total Wipe Out Cleansing Wipes are thick and soft and damp. That’s because we put a bit more cleansing formula on them than most, so they won’t dry out halfway through the job. Close the pack carefully after use, and they’ll stay moist for weeks.”

4) Face wipes are bad for the environment; they all end up in landfill sites.

“FALSE. We’re proud of the fact that Good Things Total Wipe Out Cleansing Wipes are biodegradable.”

Good Things skincare is designed to help young skin look its radiant best. Developed by the award winning beauty expert Alice Hart-Davis, this range of gentle, effective products is full of good things in the form of beauty-boosting superfruit extracts. Good Things Total Wipe Out Cleansing Wipes (£3.49, 25 wipes) are available from leading Boots and Sainsbury’s stores nationwide – for more information, visit
