Is 2013 the year that Men’s cosmetics will take off in the UK

Asia normally takes the lead in trends for the cosmetic industry, last year saw an incredible growth in this trend and it is predicted to explode in 2013.

Male grooming is the quickest growing market in this sector in the UK but it is still relatively small compared to the money spent by their female counterparts.  Here much of the male grooming pound goes on hair products, however in Asia the trend is for cleansers, creams and foundations.  Recent months have seen a dramatic upturn in the sales of makeup, with 20 percent wearing some kind of foundation.  It is seen as socially acceptable for men to wear foundation there but I think it has become acceptable here too.

What are your thoughts?
