There are certain essentials a medicine cupboard should have and one of those is lavender – no it isn’t a drug but it is one of the most incredible healers.

Essential lavender oil was used in the first world war to heal burns and this wonder herb is considered as one of those gentle calmers for your nervous system. A few drops of this oil to your warm bath before bedtime will assist with a sound sleep. Additionally, it can also be taken as a tea (2-3 cups daily) or can be inhaled or massaged to address insomnia.

The best time to pick lavender to dry is when it’s in bud, tie stems together and hang to dry. ┬áRoll a few sprigs in a hanky and put under your pillow to calm and relax
