One of my new year resolutions was to look at what I was not just putting on my body, but in it. After reading lots of nutrition books, and running regularly with a nutritionist, I realised that it was worth spending a bit of time making sure that I was looking after my body from the inside out.

So when I was offered the chance to be one of the first people to try the Rejuvenated Collagen Shots I jumped at the chance. I must admit I am a total optimist when it comes to trying new things, but at the same time the science behind the product had to make sense. So my first stop was doing a bit of research.

It turns out that not only is liquid collagen been championed in nutrition, especially sport, for years but it’s the best way to take it. It gets into the body quicker, it’s more effective and its the most abundant protein found in mammals. It’s part of our connective tissue and is like the ‘glue’ of our bodies. The problem is that as we get older the naturally occurring collagen starts to degrade, leading to wrinkles. The practice of eating collagen has been going on in the homes of Japan for years, and collagen rich diets are currently massive in the US.

Despite all this there are those that are still sceptical, and I was curious. Collagen is not harmful so I thought I would give it ago. The Rejuvenated Collagen is a new product to the market and with100% natural marine collagen and acai berry to help reduce the signs of ageing and cellulite.

Ingredients per serving: Marine Collagen 10g, Acai Berry 500mg, Niacin 4.8mg, Pantothenic Acid 1.8mg, Pyridoxine 0.42mg (30% RDA on the vitamins) plus Mild Berry Flavouring and Sucralose

Nutritional: Free from artificial colours, gluten, lactose, preservatives, yeast, starch, fat and cholesterol. Halaal certified.

Now I’m only 22 and many of you may be wondering why on earth I would want to take something that’s seen as ‘anti-ageing’, there are three reasons:

A) preventative measures
B) sport, I know that the amount of running etc that I do can damage my skin and make my face look ‘haggard’ as i get older and break down natural collagen
C) mainly because I’ve seen results, my skin has been brighter, my hair is growing faster. My skin is heeling better, and my skin is more even.

So for me i will be keeping on using collagen, a shot a day keeps the wrinkles at bay.

this product was given to me to try, but the opinions are my own. I am not paid to give them. I have full control of what I choose to publish, if i not like the product then I will not write positively about it.
