Cosmetics company Estée Lauder has released tributes to its senior corporate vice president Evelyn Lauder, who died on Saturday, aged 75, Evelyn died from complications stemming from “non-genetic” ovarian cancer.

Her son, Willam Lauder, executive chairman of the company, said: “My mother carried the torch of our company heritage and the values that were passed to her by my grandmother, Mrs Estée Lauder…My mother was our creative compass and pillar of strength. Together my family and the company celebrate the beautiful person she was.”
Estée Lauder president and chief executive Fabrizio Freda added: “Evelyn embodied the heart and soul of the Estée Lauder Companies. She was one of the pivotal architects of our vision, values, and culture.”
Evelyn Lauder will be best remembered for co-creating the Pink Ribbon to raise money for breast cancer care and also for launching the Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign. She also founded the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which has raised $350m (£220m) since its inception in 1993.
Her work for Estée Lauder included significant contributions in education and product development. She thought of the name Clinique and was the brand’s first training director.
